In the book of Deuteronomy chapter four and six the Bible commands parents to train their children and grandchildren. This therefore lays the responsibility on grandparents, just as much as it does on parents, to raise children. Interesting, when today grandparents are usually kept at some distance and at best called on the phone for certain occasions.
I am glad I had some time with 3 out of 4 of my grandparents. Each one of them had several things to teach me. I wish I had been able to spend more time with them there would have been much more I could have learned.
