One thing Dad never forgot to do to with us kids as we were growing up under his leadership and authority was make sure we had a good time with him on a regular basis.
He brought us hunting on his private land as well as on the hunting preserves owned by other people.
He would go on bike rides on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
We went with him and Mom to Egypt, visited Aswan, the Valley of the Kings and went on a boat cruise on the Nile.
He taught us how to collect stamps and coins and gave us his best doubles. He taught us how to save money giving us a piggy bank to start with.
Dad taught us how to row and our favorite activity was when the entire family with all four of us would go out as far away as we could from the shore and swim in the crystal clear sea water.
He taught me how to make my own handmade submarine that would go under water and come back up again under its own propulsion.
And many more things – Dad was the best friend I could possibly ever have had.
